What to Expect
Knowing what to expect helps you perform your best. Here is a detailed look at the types of questions, how to respond, and what makes for strong answers.
Types of Questions
Questions are open-ended and conversational. You will encounter:
- Experience"Tell me about your experience with AI tools..."
- Scenario"How would you approach this situation using AI?"
- Concept"What do you understand about how LLMs work?"
- Follow-up"Can you elaborate on that example?"
How to Respond Effectively
There is no single "right" answer. Focus on being clear and specific:
Do This
- - Give specific examples from your experience
- - Explain your reasoning and thought process
- - Mention specific tools, techniques, or methods
- - Acknowledge when you do not know something
- - Discuss both successes and challenges
Avoid This
- - Vague or generic responses
- - Pretending to know things you do not
- - One-word or extremely brief answers
- - Copying responses from AI tools during the test
- - Overstating your experience
What the AI is Looking For
The AI evaluator assesses 5 core competencies:
Your ability to craft effective prompts and communicate with AI tools
How you apply AI tools to real-world tasks and problems
Your knowledge of AI capabilities, limitations, and concepts
Your ability to assess AI outputs and recognize limitations
How you integrate AI into processes and workflows
Tips for Authentic Answers
- Be honest about your level. If you are a beginner, that is fine. The assessment adapts to your skill level and gives you a useful score regardless.
- Use real examples. Talk about actual projects, tasks, or situations where you used AI. Specific details make your responses more credible.
- Show your thinking. Explain why you make certain choices when using AI. Your reasoning process matters as much as the outcome.
- Discuss failures too. Talking about times AI did not work well shows mature understanding. What did you learn?
Example: Good vs. Weak Responses
Question: "How do you use AI in your work?"
"I use ChatGPT sometimes for writing."
"I use Claude daily for drafting technical documentation. I start with a detailed prompt that includes our style guide requirements and context about the feature. Then I iterate with the AI, asking it to simplify complex sections. I always review for technical accuracy since AI can hallucinate API details."
